Crunchyroll is shutting down their “Digital Drops” App.
Chances are you don’t even know what the app was anyways, some people on /r/Crunchyroll blame that on poor marketing. Seems fair.
What is… Or was the app anyways? From the Google Play Store;
“Crunchyroll Digital Drops is our new destination for digital stickers and super rare e-memorabilia from your favorite series and characters in the Crunchyroll universe. With new content dropping regularly, join other anime fans on a chase to find rare, covetable digital collectibles. Each collectible is guaranteed unique and produced in limited quantities so get in early for a chance to score the most valuable ones!”
It seems the app was free to download but had in-app purchases.
To be completely fair and transparent, despite a number of negative reviews that can be found, the app does seem to still hold a solid rating.
Even with an overall positive rating, however, the app is poised to shut down.
Redditors are reporting that people will not be able to receive refunds for their in-app purchases, despite the app’s short life.
I do feel for anyone who has/had the app and bought stickers. If you have some cute, cool, or whatever – stickers you enjoyed.
One redditor did provide a possible solution.
That’s it for this report.
