There has recently been a surge of people in Japan taking notice of the madness and hypocrisy of the Western Entertainment Industry.
This news is a follow up so to speak, of that news.
Well known and beloved Japanese voice actress, Megumi Ogata ( Shinji Ikari, Yugi Moto and Dark Yugi, Karuma, Tier Harribel), formed a tweet on June 30, 2020, linking to a Yahoo JP article discussing Western voice actors giving up their roles.
Parts of the Yahoo JP write up also seemed to point out the hypocrisy going on in the West as well.

The gist of the joke, at least my understanding of it, is that Megumi Ogata is concerned she will be out of work since she has voiced a number of child characters in anime. Playing off the Hollywood logic, only a child should play a child. Reminiscent of the joke we covered the other day; “So an elf should play an elf?”
